Please read Blog Scams this isn't a joke.....

I wish I had good news but I do not ....and this involves blogstream and I believe a few members here... I will also be sending an email to John a.k.a. pioneer or who ever he really is.... Cyberangels(for the FBI) and other people you may or may not know from Blogstream.... This is what has been and is going on:

I really don't mean to be bothering you, I really don't know what to do I feel like I am living in an Internet night mare...Last week someone from our bank called and ask for me when I was at work, they wouldn't tell my husband anything and that is strange all bank accounts are in his name too. Right after they called I went to the bank not knowing they had called like this lady called and I was in the bank not 15 minutes latter. I live in a very small town and have been banking at the same bank for almost 20 years and no one at the bank said a word about them calling me this was on Thursday last week.

Then Saturday a was going through the mail and paying our bills and when I came across these credit cards. I have gotten 4 credit cards 2 and then 2 more and what the letters with them said: was the extra credit cards you ask for will be sent separately... Making it a total of 4 credit cards that I did not ask for nor did I ask for any extra credit cards to be sent...

I have made a police report and am contacting the FBI and the credit card company and turning these people in... also I have sent an email to Blogstream a.k.a. John a.k.a. Pioneer a.k.a. telling him what has/is going on.…

Then Saturday night while I was sleeping someone called from the Kenton County jail my husband didn't know who it was he was half asleep and he accepted the charges. This guy tells my husband someone gave him our phone number by mistake he only got one phone call and he asks my husband if we live in a certain county and we do and my husband tells him we do... this guy tells my husband someone did him very wrong and he only gets one phone call and it will cost $750.00 to bail him from jail he claims a guy gave him our home phone number...

We don't know this guy nor do we know anyone in the Kenton County jail... The Kenton County jail is in Kentucky and it is the jail for were someone on blogstream lives that I was a friend with who hates me now.... and I live in Ohio not Kentucky.... it gets weirder this guy tells my husband the phone number and tells my husband he must press *72 before he calls the number.. My husband feeling sorry for this guy says he will call for him... He calls the number and gets a cell phone voice mail and he leaves the message the man asks him to.
Shortly after my husband made this phone call our home phone started ringing just one time it did this 6 or more times Saturday night... My home phone would just ring one time and when we did try to answer our phone all we heard was the dail tone....

Then Sunday morning my husband tells me this crazy story about the man calling from the Kenton County jail.... Because our home phone has been doing the same thing all morning just ringing one time and there is a dail tone we thought someone was calling and just hanging up...

I called *69 to see if I could find out who is calling our house and the number from the guy in jail from 9:43 PM the night before comes up... We don't get a lot of phone calls at night so I thought nothing of it....The hang up calls don't show up I didn't think the hang up calls would. Then I call the number, which is a Kentucky phone number, and it has been disconnected. I now know it is a phone for outgoing inmate calls from the Kenton County jail and you cannot call in to it ....

Then I got on the computer and my cell phone rings I answer it and it's a guy looking for some lady that a friend of his named Ressy set him up with... I tell him I don't know that person and no one lives here by that name and he keeps telling me I am wrong...I don't know what is going on but I believe this person from blogstream is a con artist and was trying to pull a scam on myself and a fellow blogger and we found them out....

I know this person on Blogstream has my home phone number and my cell phone number…Plus my date of birth...Don't leave any personal information on your blog or in your profile....I believe these people are watching and gathering any information they can...

Then today Tuesday 2, Oct. 2007 my home phone has been ringing one time since Saturday night at least 10 times a day… My daughter calls my cell phone and tells me when she calls home she is getting another person’s answering machine for a Natalie… My daughter ask when did we change our phone number...I thought my daughter had dialed the wrong phone number and told her so...

I get home from work and call my home from my cell phone and sure enough it was forwarded to this Natalie's cell phone… Each time it was forwarded my home phone rings one time...this person that my phone number is forwarded to then excepts the charges from the guy in the Kenton County jail and my home phone number was/is charged $5.00 a call x 10 calls a day x 3 days that is $150.00... I will have to pay this bill unless my husband and I press charges against this/these people.... I am taking these/this slime ball to court and I hope they all go to jail….

I have put a stop to the calls being forwarded and made a police report and also called the Kenton County jail... I found out who the inmate is who called my home and put a block on my home phone from any calls coming from the Kenton County jail… That is what you get for being nice to some very slimly people, I am sorry I am very upset and if this person was in front of me I would knock the crap out of him/her. I can’t afford to pay this bill I have no choice but to take this slime to court… Also on the local news tonight they said people are getting/gathering information about other people from blogs and blogging sites...…

I know for a fact and yes I did report it to Blogstream a.k.a. John a.k.a. Pioneer that a certain person has a hidden code on his/her blog that tells him/her where people who go to his/her blog are from i.e. city and state and what time they were at his/her blog…. I do not know if he/she has other codes that tell him/her other things but I believe he/she does…
I am not telling you this to cause you any trouble, I wanted to let you know so you can be careful and watch your back.. I am not crazy nor a liar as some here would like you to believe….I will no longer go to or be on blogstream... Blueeys

This is how I found the tracking code on my computer this came up when I copied it on my computer: {htpp://}{www.}{statcounter.}{com/}{Error!}Filename not specified. {htpp://}{www.}{statcounter.}{com/}

This blogger does have the tracking code on her/his posts. To find the full code I copied the end of her/his post where it said ~Peace~Xxxxxxxx Xxxx pasted it on blogstream post a message under advanced then switched over to standard with HTML and her/his full invisible tracking counting code shows up plus the codes that are used to make the words... I am not sure but I believe this blogger may also be using invisible codes in her/his blog back grounds too... Blueeys

Below is a copy of an email from Cyberangels Cyber Crimes Unit, I am placing it here in my comments because I can’t post or comment using my blueeys account. When I try to log in I get this
There was an Error...I am sorry, that account has been closed. As you can very well see my account has not been closed..

Basically it’s the same thing the detective working on my case has advised me to do too. Unfortunately I am not at liberty to talk about the details of my case, I can say that the police believe anyone using tracking programs on blog sites aren’t doing so for reasons that are good.

I am a member of the Cyberangels Cyber Crimes Unit and I am responding to your request for assistance. The possibility for offline harassment (or stalking) exists in your situation, since it appears that this person has enough personal information about you to find you offline. You should immediately report this situation to your local law enforcement agency and furnish them with copies of all emails, messages and/or chat room logs concerning this situation. They will require messages you sent to your harasser as well as the ones they sent to you. We also recommend that you completely change your online identity. This includes email accounts, ICQ, AIM, MSM, YIM, IRC nicknames and any forums (message boards) that you use. Do not use personal information in your profiles that would enable someone to identify you - like real name, address, city, state, sex, age, job, school, and so on.

I did what the police advised me to do… stay safe and be careful what you write or tell others you meet over the Internet … You really don’t know who you telling your personal info to... There are many people in the real world and on the Internet that are slime balls and there only real reason in life is using and hurting other people…I wish you the best in your life and that you are well and stay safe… Good-bye Blueeys

Below is one of the Articles on the Google Search which explains it, The Scam as it CAN happen, I KNOW as I was ALMOST a Victim!!!

Don't Be Conned By The Rampant "72# Scam" Of Prison Inmates -- It Could Cost You Time, $$ And Stress!
By: B. SixWise

Fifteen-year-old Whitney Lott thought she was "helping someone out" when she agreed to forward a call for a stranger on the phone. The stranger, according to a CBS News report, turned out to be an inmate from Dallas County Jail. He told the girl that he had called her accidentally and, since he only got one phone call, asked if she could forward the call to his mother -- by dialing *72.

The innocent move ended up costing Lott's parents $160, but it could have cost them hundreds, or even thousands, more.

Pressing *72 or 72# activates a call forwarding feature on phones. Every call made to your number from then on will be forwarded to a pay phone or other involved third party. However, you are responsible for the charges incurred because the calls are being forwarded from your number.

This scam has been going on around the country and involves not only inmates but also everyday con artists. According to the CBS News report, "The problem is rampant. In Florida, at least two inmates racked up more than $50,000 worth of collect calls to more than a hundred families."

How the *72 Scam Works

As described by AT&T, the *72 scam works like this:

"Star-7-2 is a custom feature for call forwarding. When the customer dials *72 followed by a telephone number, it activates the call forwarding feature causing all your incoming calls to ring at another number.

At the end of the other line -- whether calls have been forwarded to a landline, a cell phone or a payphone -- the original caller's partner-in-crime is able to accept all collect and third-party calls, while telling your own legitimate callers that they have the wrong number. You get billed for all calls made because your number is the one from which they are forwarded."

Scammers use the following scenarios most often as they try to play to the sympathies of their victim:

An inmate calling and saying he or she needs you to call their mother for them (they called you "accidentally" and say they can't make another call).

An inmate calling and saying he was arrested for a minor traffic ticket and needs to call a relative to pick up his children from the police station (again, calling you "accidentally).

Someone calling and pretending to be a phone-company technician who needs to check your phone line for a problem. In order to receive "remote access," they ask the victim to input a code of *72 or 72#.

A person calling and impersonating a police officer, telling the victim that a close friend has been injured in an auto accident. In order to find out more information, the con artist says, the victim must call another officer by pressing *72 followed by another phone number.

A person calling from a payphone and saying they don't have the additional change needed to make an emergency call, then asking you to forward their call.

"Usually, these con artists are not targeting specific people; they're just hoping to find a sympathetic ear," said Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe, who has issued a consumer alert in his state to warn the public about this increasingly common scam.

"However, if they can trick you into forwarding your phone to another number, they can repeatedly make calls that will be charged to your phone," he said.

What to Do if You Think You've Been Scammed

First and foremost, if anyone calls you asking you to input a strange code into your phone, simply hang up. Be sure to let your children know to do this as well.

In the call-forwarding scam, the code can be in the following formats:

*72

72#

90# (for certain small business phone systems)

However, be wary of any code that a stranger asks you to input. One of the clever aspects of this scam is that the victim does not know it has happened until it is too late and the charges appear on their phone bill.

If you think you may have fallen victim to the call-forwarding scam, pressing *73 or 73# (depending on your service provider) will turn off the call-forwarding feature. You may also want to alert your local law enforcement agency of the scam.

Further, says Beebe, "Keep a close eye on your phone bill, and contact your phone-service provider if you think there are calls on your account that you did not place."

Here is another ONE from 2005!!!

Phone-call-from-jail scam lives on
Associated Press
Published February 22, 2005

MIAMI - Jail inmates across Florida have been tapping into the residential phone lines of unsuspecting people to make long-distance calls, officials said.

The inmates make collect calls at random, then persuade the unwitting person on the line to press star-72 and the number to the pay phone at the jail. That forwards the victim's line to the jail phone and gives the inmate repeated access to the residential line to make calls - including long-distance calls.

The Miami-Dade County jail has been getting complaints from victims for about a year, spokeswoman Janelle Hall said. She didn't know the total number.

Some were scammed out of hundreds of dollars' worth of long-distance calls.

The jail added a warning to its collect call message that says dialing star-72 could make the person a victim of a scam. But victims don't pay attention, she said.

"The main thing to do is just don't accept the call," Hall said.

The scam also occurs at other jails, she said. (In the past year, there have been numerous reports of people in the Tampa Bay area being victimized by such a scam.)

Joan Church, of Williston in Levy County, said she received an unnerving call from Miami two weeks ago.

"The man told me there had been an accident involving two men and two women," Church said. "He said: "You need to call this number and ask for Dr. Allen."'

The anonymous caller told the 62-year-old retired widow to dial star-72, then call a phone number with a 305 area code.

Church said she has a son living in Homestead and thought she was dialing a hospital number.

Eventually, she called the phone company and learned she had activated call forwarding. She is still waiting for her phone bill to find out how many calls were made on her line.

State prisons have stopped similar scams by preventing inmates from unrestricted collect calling and three-way calling, said Debbie Buchanan, spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Corrections.

Reba,
I never said it was you and I never used your nickname I honestly don't know and I hope you didn't have a thing to do with it.. Being you live where you do what should I think? What would you think if this happened to you and it was the county jail from my area ? Think about THAT!!! You have posted and told people that I tried to hack into your accounts when we both know I was camping in another State and had no access to a computer so get real…. You have posted many times how you can’t delete anything because of your OCD and now you expect me to believe you don’t have my phone numbers? I am not buying your lies anymore…

You have posted I am a computer hacker and many lies about me and others from blogstream on your blog but who cares right that is just what you do …. As far as what has been going on with my life and my personal information I am letting the police handle it….. You are the person who uses false allegations, innuendoes and slander against anyone who doesn’t agree with your every word… Now you think you scare me by saying you would like to sue me what a joke you are…. I am in no way obsessed with you I care less about you .... You are the one posting on my blog uninvited using one of your many aliases... You are a mean nasty person point blank…

You have made fun of my friend dying even going so far as calling me a liar about her passing away!!! You have posted that I and others only post things like that to get hits that is a lie and you damn well know it !!! Then you post about your pet guinea pig dying I am sorry it died pets are very important and special…But pets aren’t human beings and it damn sure isn’t the same as a close friend passing away…Would you like to explain your cruel behavior? I think not that is just who you are!!!!! That is why I want nothing and PLEASE get this through your thick scull I will have absolutely nothing to do with you!!!!!

P.S.
As to Reba and anyone else thinking I want to cause harm to Mistress Reba with all she is going through I do not and I wish her well. I wish Reba would have acted as a human being toward Katie of Kate’s Coven and Celtic Mist of To Go Beyond with what all they went through and have been going through when she did nothing but post mean and nasty comments about them and myself..

Reba I do hope you are well soon and have your surgery and it goes well… But stop playing the victim we both know you care only about yourself and you care less who you have hurt… Oh how can I forget Celtic Mist, Katie and myself are fakes and all the same person so you can write what ever you make up about us.. You know damn well I am not Katie or Celtic Mist and let me make this clear they are not fakes and they are real people who have hearts unlike you…. Mistress Reba I will not take your crap and I will stand up for myself no matter what you do!!!!!

Hey Blue, I wish i was able to play music but I have some "intrusion" issues on my computer so I cant open your Black Sabbath song. But I first saw them in Syracuse while in college there back in 1980....yes Im ancient. my favorite song is Sweet Leaf on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Sorry to hear of your computer woes. Hope you get it resolved. Joram
